EZ Baby is well known around these waters as a long standing and honored member of the Great Lakes Cruising Club… indeed, she has comfortably cruised all 5 great lakes including Lake Superior and Georgian Bay under the loving care of her original owners. Sadly the time has come for them to say farewell to their trusted partner of 23 years. They have entrusted us with the boat for “re-assignment”, knowing we would not just find a new home for her but more importantly find the right home for her. Some boats are just boats… this isn’t one of them.
We had a factory crew deliver the boat back to Goderich to determine her condition and full measure. For the last couple of years she hasn’t seen a lot of sailing but to the owner’s credit we were happy to find everything worked exactly as it should and the boat easily made the three day trip to Goderich without issue in less than ideal conditions.
EZ Baby is in above average condition having had the benefit of indoor winter storage for in excess of 6 months a year since new and she is mostly original. Even though most of her navigation electronics are older (except for a Garmin Chart Plotter) everything is in working condition. She has a central Espar heating system and an almost new inflatable RIB with outboard. The canvas and sails are in better than average condition with only some minor stitching required. The Westerbeke 63 has 3000 hours on it and is in very good condition… it runs extremely smoothly with the Aqua Drive system reducing normal engine vibrations. The boat has a very complete ground tackle package with windlass.
EZ Baby has the last variant of the A interior. This one has the L shaped galley with the stove forward, sinks inboard and aft, and the larger refrigerated ice box aft and outboard. The dinette converts into a full double pull out and seats 6. The head counter with the sink faces aft with a full proper mirror.
This boat has not seen a lot of modification and is very much original and unmolested condition and she shows very well. If you are looking for a boat with zero corrosion and in better than average condition, EZ Baby should be on your list of boats to consider.
