SOLD Spring 2017 1992 Gozzard 31 Hull #8 “Crescendo”

Crescendo is a truly rare find. First – she is the only Gozzard Yacht ever built with an all teak interior and second – she is one of the few (if not the only) remaining Gozzard 31 that has lived her entire life on the Great Lakes… and we all know what that means – no corrosion! She was also the first Gozzard 31 to sport a dark colored hull – and as far as we know only one of two currently with the limited edition paint scheme. Her dark green Awlgrip hull gives this cutter rigged blue water capable little cruiser and truly elegant look.

Crescendo at Anchor

Crescendo has sailed exclusively in fresh waters of Lake Erie, Lake Huron and cruising paradise known as Georgian Bay where she calls Wiarton home port for a relatively short sailing season of only 5 months a year. Currently with her second owners, she has always been close enough to Goderich that she frequently winters at the factory where she has been serviced regularly and had the advantage of many factory installed upgrades and additions.

Accommodations – Crescendo has the innovative Gozzard ‘open’ layout. The convertible main saloon forward offers 2 single settee / berths, port and starboard, which can be swung together to form a center line double bed. Forward of this is a large cedar lined hanging locker to port. There is a center line coffee table which converts to a full dining table with the addition of a separate table top, stored in the vast storage area behind the port settee.  The feeling one gets in the salon area of this vessel is one of a much larger yacht then 31 feet.  Midship to starboard is a full-size pantry/ storage closet. Next aft to starboard is the dedicated navigation station with a huge chart table with locking hinged top, and plenty of storage for charts, a comfortable nav seat with more storage below, hinged instrument panel for easy access.

Across from the nav station is the galley with lots of storage space. Aft to port is the head with vanity and sink, shower, and  storage. Aft to starboard is the owner’s stateroom with a queen berth, hanging locker, shelf and drawer with storage under the bunk and access to engine and prop shaft.

The interior is satin varnished teak with white overhead and cabin trunk panels with a solid teak and bass wood cabin sole. The overall feeling is of superb quality and tradition.  Companionway has full, built-in screen enclosure and custom made stair pads. Removable companionway stairs make easy access to engine.
