Gozzard Yachts have been working with Awlgrip® as the initial finish on fiberglass hulls and decks since 1987. A polyester-based, high-gloss polyurethane topcoat for fiberglass, Awlgrip paint offers excellent abrasion and chemical resistance with long-lasting gloss and color retention. It was widely considered to be the best topside boat paint when we started to use it and continues to be the best topcoat product on the market, in our opinion. We use Awlgrip Classic, which is harder to work with, but produces superior results. Our certified paint shop includes a dust-controlled environment, superb lighting, state-of-the-art application equipment and in-floor heating for optimal post-cure conditions. With over 200 new and refurbished boats under our belts since 1987, our extensive experience with Awlgrip products allows us to do complete re-finishing of boats as well as touch-ups. The quality of our work is such that Awlgrip sent its reps to view the finish on our new G41 RC at the 2016 United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis.
The Gozzard facility includes a custom-built paint booth that is air filtered and includes built-in curing lights to ensure the best possible finish.
